Volunteer Information

All members of SmallDog Rescue family are volunteers. There are many different ways in which our volunteers donate their time, such as fostering dogs, transporting dogs, screening applications, training other volunteers, assisting at adoption events, walking dogs at the shelter, and fundraising.

What is required to be a volunteer for SmallDog Rescue?

There are several minimum requirements for all SmallDog Rescue volunteers. Most importantly, volunteering for SmallDog Rescue requires a strong desire to be part of the solution to pet overpopulation, as well as having a love of animals. In addition, all new volunteers must complete the Volunteer Engagement Process, which consists of:

  • Step 1: Successfully complete the online volunteer application
  • Step 2: Once accepted, complete the required training curriculum for your role
  • Step 3: Have a ball helping us save the lives of hundreds of dogs (and now cats) in Georgia!

Specific teaming with another volunteer is commonly recommended. We call this our Paw Pal System

What are you waiting for? Click here to complete the Volunteer Application and let’s get started!
