SmallDog Rescue is home to some of the most amazing and incredibly dedicated and generous individuals. As you will read below, they give countless hours of support and love to our animals. We would not be where we are today if it were not for them. It gives us great joy to share with you insights from our wonderful friends.

How long have you been a SDR volunteer?
Emily and I began volunteering for SDR in June of 2010….so about 1 1/2 years
How many hours per week do you volunteer?
Not sure, just volunteer when we can…sometimes adoptions, Wednesdays at the Facility, fundraisers, PR events, the making of belly bands, anything we can to help the dogs.
What do you like most about volunteering?
It’s a ton of fun, plus we get to give the dogs some speical attention, and meet other volunteers in the process.
Which cat/dog is your favorite? Why?
We have had several favorites. Puppies are always a favorite to play with and get puppy kisses, but some of the dogs that come to mind immediately are the following:
Emily’s Favorites: My current facility favorite would have to be Zen, having grown up with labs i’ve always had a love for big dogs. Her gorgeous coat and sweet nature make her the full package. But of all the dogs to come through the facility during my time as a volunteer, Gigi Jeans takes the cake as my all time favorite, she had me at the first tail wag. Her puppy prance and precious face never failed to put a smile on my face, she was quickly deemed my “little love bug”.
My other favorite former adoptables include: Kara Kareela (My “Kare Bear”), Jerry Seinfeld, Harry Reasoner, Sabrina Starfish,
Chris’ Favorites: Archie, Kara Kareela, Sabrina Starfish
