Meet Tina

My husband and I began our relationship with SmallDog Rescue in August 2005 with the adoption of our dog, Daphne. We started to volunteer extensively in early 2007.

2) I handle all applications that come in for SmallDog Rescue dogs. Working closely with our volunteer adoption counselor/screeners, foster homes, potential adopters and our facility manager to insure that our dogs find a home that will love and cherish them for the rest of their lives.

3) I enjoy seeing my foster dogs overcome challenges and obstacles to learn to thrive in a home environment then move on to their permanent families.  I also love it when adopters send pictures and stories about their canine family members.

4) Chloe Cassiopeia is my current facility favorite.  She is a mature, spunky little Dachshund girl searching for her forever home.  Please go to http://smalldoghumane.org/adoptions/adoptable-dogs/ to learn more about Chloe.

5) While it may seem like our application process is extensive to some, we make every effort to find forever placement including safety and well being for all the homeless pets in our care.  In turn, we are diligent about placing the right pet with your family.

6) We have 5 dogs and 4 cats along with a few foster dogs.  Our pets range in age from 1 to 10 years old and we have 6 boys and 3 girls.  All of them are rescue animals, 4 are SmallDog Rescue alumni, 1 was found as a stray at 6 weeks old by a vet tech at our vet’s office and 4 were “wild caught”, as we call them, by my husband and I.  Millie was dumped off as a one year old on a dead end street on Lake Lanier.  Charlie was found as an older kitten in our Post Office parking lot on a cold Veteran’s Day night.  Cooper was found on a rainy St. Patrick’s Day at a gas station.  He was a sickly young kitten.  Then our baby, Cooter, was an 8 week old kitten that found his way into the huge retail building where my family has a furniture store.  After several days of tracking him around inside the building, we were finally able to catch him in a humane trap.

7) I have: A wonderful husband who shares my passion for animals.
I do: Take long walks with my dogs, as many as my schedule permits.
I like: To eat out so that I don’t have to cook.
