SmallDog Rescue and Humane Society (SmallDog Rescue) is a 501 (c) (3),
tax-exempt organization dedicated to finding loving families
for homeless dogs in the Atlanta area. Every year, over 90,000 animals are killed in
Georgia shelters. Our volunteers rescue many dogs from local shelters and
foster them in their own homes until a suitable forever home is found.
We do not shy away from taking sick or difficult dogs into our program.
Thanks to donations, we are able to provide excellent medical care for
all of our little orphans. Our volunteers work tirelessly on training,
socializing, and giving the dogs all of the loving care that they so much
deserve. Thanks to our friends and supporters, we have been able to rescue hundreds of
dogs from certain death, and place them in loving forever homes. It is caring individuals
like you who can make a difference in the lives of our wonderful orphan dogs. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website, and come visit us at Petco in Sandy Springs, every Saturday from noon till four. We're at the corner of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road, in the Whole Foods shopping center every Saturday. We're also at the PetSmart in the North Point Shopping Center, 6370 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA at least 2 Sundays a month. See you there! Because we are an all-volunteer foster based organization, we are not able to conduct requisite pre- and post-adoption home visits outside of the north Metro Atlanta area. Therefore we ONLY adopt to residents in the north Metro Atlanta area. Thank you for your understanding.

KARUNDA BED DRIVE  Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda beds, but we do not have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed for another shelter dog at discounted price, please click here. The beds we need are the Poly-Resin beds with the 40 oz. vinyl fabric in the 35 X 23 size. When purchased as a donation to us, you save over $15.00 over the regular price!  CRITICAL CARE UNIT Updated March 14 SmallChange for SmallDogs! Small change can make a big difference! SmallDog Rescue is currently accepting all that unwanted loose change sitting around your house! We always need cash to help the dogs, and coins are just sitting there collecting dust. Put them all in a piggy bank, or a bag, or a box, or a tin (yes, we?ve gotten all of these so far!), and bring them to any Saturday Petco adoption event from 12 - 4pm. Toss it in one of our donation jars, and give yourself a pat on the back for helping out the dogs. Pretty simple! So check those couch cushions, cars, washers and dryers, pockets, closet floors, briefcases, and junk drawers for extra change and bring it on by. The dogs will thank you for it! VIRTUAL FOSTERS NEEDED!!
SmallDog Rescue has several dogs that we consider to be permanent fosters. These dogs typically
have severe medical or social problems that make it unsafe to place them with inexperienced families.
The medical care for these dogs goes on at SDR's expense. Sometimes the foster family donates toward
major expenses such as surgery, but most often the cost for the care of these babies comes directly
from SmallDog's pocket. Click here to see who most needs your help.Virtual fosters help with the cost of caring for these furkids. You can select one or more of our permanent fosters, and donate $25.00 to the care of that dog. In return, you will be recognized that month as that dog's virtual foster for the month the donation is received, or the following month if that dog already has a virtual foster for the current month.
